WHO
WE ARE
Little Big Media was built on a deep belief in the power of story and over time, that belief evolved into something deeper: the power of connection.

Today, Little Big Media is a human-centered coaching practice rooted in presence, listening, and meaning. We work with people who are accomplished, capable, and outwardly “doing fine,” yet quietly feeling disconnected from themselves, their work, or their lives. Our work isn’t about louder messaging or better marketing—it’s about helping you reconnect with what’s real and true beneath the noise.

Founded by Ty Schmidt, a lifelong storyteller with a background in clinical psychology, editorial leadership, content strategy, and journalism, this practice is shaped by a lifetime spent listening to people’s stories, both the ones they share publicly and the ones they carry privately.
That experience taught us something essential: before people can tell their story, they need to be able to hear themselves again.

No two people experience disconnection in the same way. That’s why our work is deeply personal, guided, and intentionally slow. Through connection coaching and our Reconnection Sessions program, we help you create safe space to reflect, reset, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that matter most.

You already carry wisdom, experience, and truth. Our role is simply to help you reconnect with it so you can move forward with clarity, presence, and meaning.
OUR
WORK
Our work begins with a simple truth: most people don’t need more information. They need space to reconnect.

In a world full of noise, unsolicited advice, and constant output, it’s easier than ever to lose touch with yourself. What's harder, and more worthwhile, is staying grounded in who you are when things feel out of control.
You might know your life well on paper. You might be capable, accomplished, and outwardly successful. And still, something feels off. Numb. Disconnected. Hard to name.

That’s where our work begins.

At Little Big Media, our work centers on connection coaching, which involves helping people slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with what matters most.
Rather than focusing on tactics or performance, we focus on presence, clarity, and meaning. We create intentional space for reflection so you can hear your own voice again before deciding what comes next.
This work isn’t one-size-fits-all. No two people experience disconnection in the same way. That’s why our process is guided, personal, and intentionally paced.
Through conversation, reflection, and the Reconnection Session program, we help you move from overwhelm to clarity, from disconnection to grounded forward motion.

The results aren’t louder lives or faster decisions. They’re deeper alignment, renewed energy, and choices that actually feel like yours.

Our work is strategic in its care, consistent in its presence, and rooted in trust. We don’t rush the process and we don’t let go until you feel reconnected and steady on your path forward.

OUR
TEAM

Owner and operator Ty Schmidt has been listening to and telling human stories for most of her life.

First published at the age of 15, Ty began her career in journalism and editorial work, writing for one of the largest newspaper groups in the country and later serving as an editor for a national teen magazine.
Over the years, she also built a deeply engaged personal blog written from the perspective of her dog, Wiley that quietly attracted thousands of loyal readers from around the world. What mattered most wasn’t the format or the platform, but the connection it created.

That through line of listening deeply, noticing what goes unsaid, and honoring people’s lived experience eventually shaped the work that became Little Big Media.

Since launching Little Big Media in 2015, Ty has partnered with organizations such as Sundara Inn & Spa, Atlantic Residential, and FranklinCovey, helping brands communicate with clarity, humanity, and intention. But over time, the work began to shift from helping organizations tell their stories to helping people reconnect with their own.

Today, Ty brings that same foundation of storytelling, presence, and trust into her work as a Connection Coach. Her approach is shaped not by performance or productivity, but by compassion, emotional intelligence, and the belief that before people move forward, they need space to hear themselves again.

Her work has been recognized by the Milwaukee Press Club and the Wisconsin Newspaper Association, but her greatest measure of success remains quieter: helping people feel seen, grounded, and reconnected to who they are.
